Aditi Malik, Board Certified Psychiatrist
I have several years of experience in the field of psychiatry. I have worked in an inpatient setting, partial hospital setting as well as in private practice. My approach is to put patients through a thorough evaluation process, and then select treatments based on both pharmacological and psychological approaches. I utilize a broad range of therapeutic modalities, including insight-oriented, supportive and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I also run CBT based groups and Group therapy is one of my special interest. I treat patients with psychiatric concerns such as depression, anxiety, reproductive psychiatry, memory disorders, bipolar disorder, adult attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and thought disorders. I offer the full spectrum of psychiatric treatment options available, including psychotherapy( both individual and group), also known as “talk therapy,” as well as psychopharmacology, which involves administration of medications designed to modify behavior or moods. While some patients are treated with both talk therapy and medication, others are treated with a focus on one or the other treatment modality alone.
I truly believe that success in treatment results from an understanding of the underlying illness in the context of family and relationships. My work with patients is collaborative with the goal of maximizing each person's strengths. When diagnosing or treating my patients, I try to provide a caring, warm, nonjudgmental environment. I am board-certified in Adult Psychiatry. I was awarded a fellowship by American Psychiatric Association in 2015 for my work with the community.
